This policy explains the what, how, and why of the information Rocket 88 collect when you shop with us or visit one of our websites. We take your privacy seriously, and we don’t sell lists or email addresses.

What do we do with your information?

When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us which may include your name, address, email address, phone number, gender, location, purchase history and other demographic information.

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address and may receive information about your operating system, browser ID, browsing activity, and other information about how you interacted with our websites or other websites. We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

Shopify

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Third-party services

Storage in the United States

Our databases are stored by Mailchimp and Shopify on servers primarily located in the United States, so your information may be transferred to, stored, or processed in the United States. While the data protection, privacy, and other laws of the United States might not be as comprehensive as those in your country steps are taken to protect your privacy. By using our Websites, you understand and consent to the collection, storage, processing, and transfer of your information to facilities in the United States and those third parties with whom we share it.

Data Transfers from Switzerland or the EU to the United States

Our database is stored by Mailchimp who participate in and has certified its compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-U.S Privacy Shield Framework. They are committed to subjecting all Personal Information received from European Union (EU) member countries and Switzerland, respectively, in reliance on each Privacy Shield Framework, to the Framework’s applicable Principles. MailChimp is responsible for the processing of Personal Information it receives under each Privacy Shield Framework and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on its behalf. We comply with the Privacy Shield Principles for all onward transfers of personal data from the EU and Switzerland, including the onward transfer liability provisions.

With respect to personal data received or transferred pursuant to the Privacy Shield Frameworks, we are subject to the regulatory enforcement powers of the US Federal Trade Commission. In certain situations, we may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

Australia

If you live in Australia, are subject to the operation of the Privacy Act 1988 (“Australian Privacy Act”). Here are the specific points you should be aware of:

We will not use or disclose Personal Information for our direct marketing to you unless: you have consented to receive direct marketing; you would reasonably expect us to use your personal details for the marketing; or we believe you may be interested in the material but it is impractical for us to obtain your consent. Our servers are primarily located in the United States. Accuracy and retention of data

We do our best to keep your data accurate and up to date, though you need to provide us with the information we need to do so.
